In this article I am going to show you three simple keys on how to make long-term connections with other people.

Be a Giver Not a Taker

People tend to connect on a very subconscious level with other people who they sense might be able to help them in one way or another. It's just human nature.

The best way to find out how you can possibly help another person is to ask him questions about things that interest in him, and even more importantly, to listen to what he has to say. This is easier to do with people you already know then with complete strangers, but today's stranger may become tomorrow's friend.

The key is not to be looking for the quid pro quo. Ask questions, and offer help where you can.

Connecting Takes Practice

We all want to be the person who can walk into a room full of strangers and appear comfortable with everybody. Maybe that is a natural ability, maybe it is not.

Like almost everything else, you will become better at connecting with other people by practicing at it. No matter what the event, or where you are, try connecting with the person in front of you right now.

Give the person in front of you all your attention. You can break the ice by asking almost any question that includes the word "you" in it. "Did you travel far to get here?"

Create As Many Opportunities as Possible

Instead of avoiding networking opportunities whenever you can, seek out even more to participate in. Practice makes perfect. If you stick to your guns and force yourself to go to networking events you will eventually become comfortable doing it. When you feel that you have arrived at that comfort point, you can become more selective about the networking events you want to attend.

Go For Quality, Not Quantity

Two or three quality connections in your field may be all that you will ever need. Remember, it's all about giving and not just swapping favors. Give other people your attention, show an interest in them, and the business side of things will take care of itself.

Get yourself better in salesmanship, marketing and copywriting with these video tips from the Titans of Salesmanship - the all time greatest salesmen. http://recessionbusiness.com/videotips

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Peter_Boston

Network Marketing the Easy Way - How to Work Smart, Not Hard

Did you think that when you started your network marketing business that it would be as hard as it is? I mean, you've gone through the 'getting started' guide the company gave you when you signed up. You have spent time on personal development (learning to become the person your new prospect is looking for). You have created a workspace in your spare bedroom to work at. Your list of people to talk with is neat and orderly - and alphabetized! How come the money is not pouring in?

Taking Action versus In Depth Study

As with most things in life, balance is the key. Some people are comfortable with lighting themselves on fire with enthusiasm in hopes of signing up anyone that comes by to watch him burn (action). Others are intent on learning everything there is to know before saying anything to anyone (study)! The key is to spend just enough time learning to be effective in the action you take to promote your business.

Definition of Wisdom

Someone once told me the definition of wisdom is to learn from others' mistakes and experiences. This makes a lot of sense to me. Network marketing is designed in a way for us to learn from each other, and hopefully shorten the time necessary to build a successful network marketing business. By joining the right team, you should be able to plug into a proven system, along with the associated training, to help smooth your journey.

Faster is better than slower

This is in direct conflict with what we learned as a child that 'slow and steady wins the race'. I have always identified with the tortoise. However, you will find that if you try to build your business slowly that momentum will never build and you will simply limp along. The secret to working smart while building your successful networking marketing business is to take massive action as quickly as you can. This will build the momentum in your business. Your business partners will also become infected by your activity and you may even see some of your massive activity rub off on them, too!

Marketing is better than selling

Have you ever been to a store and found a salesperson hovering over you and recommending products without even asking you what you are looking for? Have you ever done that with any of your potential customers? Do you know anyone that likes to be sold? However, most of us do like to buy. As a network 'marketer' it is our job to promote our products, educate potential customers, and give our customers the opportunity to buy (without throwing up all over them). As network marketers we are connecting with people to determine whether they might be potential customers. If they don't have a need for our services, the context of the conversation may be whether they know of anyone that might be interested in what we have to offer. Another option is to advertise (like a real business does) either in your local paper or establish a presence on the web and open your store to the world. The internet and your website or blog is a match made in heaven. As people find out what you have to offer and see how you can make their life better, they can request more information or even buy something from you. And this all happens without you canvassing the mall and talking to everyone that you come in contact with.

Automated system versus manual system

This is an easy one. Obviously, an automated system makes your life much easier than trying to stay on top of things manually. In days gone by you would have to keep track of potential customers and business partners on paper (or more recently in Excel or Outlook). Then, each day you would have to determine who to send what information to hopefully continue their progression through the sales funnel. Today, using web sites (or blogs) with the capability to capture your prospect's information, everything happens automatically. You set up the information that you want to have sent to your prospects over the next several weeks, months, or even years. Most sales need 5-7 contacts before the prospect feels comfortable enough to move forward. With an automated system, you can provide enough information and value for the prospect to get to know and like you, and to determine that he would like to do business with you.

Dan McMonigle is a network marketing cash flow expert. Social media is a great way to market your business. But, it is also a great way to network with other business owners. In the past two years, I have been asked to speak to various Mompreneur Groups, College Student Groups, Chamber of Commerce events and Women Business Owner Groups. I have been also been the guest on various online radio shows discussing my ebooks and teaching my ecourses.

Speaking to various groups allows me the opportunity to share my message with others throughout the United States and in other countries. This is the power of compound friending. Remember, social networking and public speaking are free ways to grow your business. When I speak in front of a group whether in person or online it is exposing me and my business to potential clients. It is allowing me the opportunity to share tips and resources that will help others grow their business.

When you use my five tips you will grow your business:

1. Be Yourself: Type your status updates in your lingo and language. Do not try to type, speak or present yourself in a manner that is not you. People that meet me and hire me resonate with my personality. They do not want a stiff executive who speaks or writes using big words. They like my down to earth no nonsense approach to life and business with a dash of humor.

2. Engage in Real Conversation: I try to spend a few minutes each day establishing rapport with people who give "the thumbs up" or "like" my posts. I click on their names to see who they are then I start engaging them in conversation.

3. Keep it Real: You will notice that my personal pages have tidbits and posts that reflect who I am. I love dogs and cats. I love pit bulls and post regularly about Miss Savanna my blue pit and Mr. Skittles my old grouchy cat. These posts let people see that I am not perfect and my life is not perfect. I don't fret over an occasional typo so they can see I am human. I even joke about the fact I can't type a complete correct sentence until I have consumed an entire pot of coffee. Social media is about presenting yourself just as you are - warts and all.

4. Keep it Clean: I know I just said keep it real however, I will add keep your posts clean. If you do not want grandma to see something do not post it online. Do not post things that would present you or your business in a negative way. Do not post inappropriate photos or use foul language. Also, do not get into a fight with someone online. Never ever speak poorly about someone. Keep your words and photos nice and squeaky clean.

5. Share: In order to grow your business you will need to show off your expertise so that you are seen as the expert. You do this by sharing your knowledge with your followers or list. If you are using Twitter you only have 140 characters. So you can share one small industry specific tip with your peeps. People love using social media to learn new things. When you share your knowledge it opens up opportunities for you to get new clients or customers, joint venture opportunities and invitations to speak at events.

When you use my five tips people will see you as human. They will see you as the expert in your niche. This will lead to invitations to speak to various groups either in person or online. When you accept invitations to speak you will get to promote your business for free. When you promote your business you will attract new clients, grow your business and put more money in your bank account.

Coach Jaynine ensures small business owners and determined individuals turn their Dreams into Reality. Nevertheless, from time to time it's also important to fully understand what you should not do and what you need to steer clear of. If you really want to network effectively and successfully, then there are 5 things that you really might want to avoid. We're going to deal with what things to avoid, why you should avoid them, and make suggestions about what you should do alternatively. With the above considered, listed below are the 5 things you should avoid.

1. Never try to sell your services or products  during an initial encounter. The principal reasons that you ought not to  do that are;

- You have not established any trust or any real credibility just yet.

- Typically, people will buy or refer those whom they know, like, and trust.

- You are doing yourself and your potential client or partner an injustice by not giving your wares the 100% attention they deserve. A closed, focused setting is best when it comes to selling.

Instead of the hard sell, you might prefer to make a good impression and set the stage for a meeting in the future

2. Don't assume what the person you're talking to is thinking. The reason you will want to do this is because you may be giving too much information or possibly not enough. As an alternative, it would be better if you simply ask a lot of questions and actively check to see if the person is listening and is interested in what is being said.

3. Be mindful about discussing sensitive issues. This is a matter of grave importance because a person's religious or political views may not be in line with yours. Instead, you should speak about positive current events, ask questions regarding their needs, and be pleasantly professional.

4. Try not to interrupt what seems to be an intense conversation. The reasoning of why this is a mistake is when two people are engaged in an interesting conversation that may be leading somewhere, the last thing you want to plant in their mind is an impression/memory of you cutting the conversation short. As an alternative, you really should seek out those who are alone or people standing with their shoulder blades apart from each other in a V-shape, who seem to be open for an introduction.

5. Invading a person's personal space. It's sometimes hard to avoid this but everyone has their own standard of what is too close. However, how we choose to spend our time is what defines a profitable business person from a busy professional. If you are an entrepreneur, I know you are always thinking of ways on how to grow your business for free and fast. Guilty! I've been there; done that, now what? The following article takes a look at why and how you should create a business networking presence online. Yes, networking online is worth your time and we will give you 6 simple tips to help you create and establish a powerful online presence that will get you the results you need. Let's look at the why first.

1. People communicate differently. Some people want to type their way into your heart, others prefer the phone and some still prefer face to face contact. Networking online appeals to people who check email, search online and just people in general who grew up with personal computers or other devices that connect us to people fast. Fast, is the reason you want to have a powerful networking presence. People are in a hurry to find what they want and they generally buy from the first vendor who responds, offers a "good" price and follows up.

2. Why Not? It doesn't hurt to have a networking presence that works for you. Networking online can work against you if you are not disciplined to set a specific amount of time to update your profiles, interact with friends or business contacts. You can get sucked into what you think might be prospecting, but could very well be a time suck.

3. Before you venture into 5 or 6 different, business networking sites, evaluate prior to joining. Start with a search as simple as adding the following keywords into Goolge search engine: business networking site. Visit all of the business networking sites on the first 2 pages of Google, which should provide you with 20 or so sites to visit. You should have a reaction to the homepage almost immediately. Find a button or link that allows you to take a tour. If you want to consider sites that might be starting up, then go beyond page two in the search results. Sites that appear within the first 20 results are sites that either have the funding to grow by advertising or sites that have grown organically, which is a good thing for you either way. You want to be a part of something that will generate leads or possible business connections/opportunities for you without much effort from you. Once you have your list of 5-6, you may want to check out how do the sites compete against each other at compete.com. If you type in the name of two competing websites on the home page of compete.com, you will get statistics that will show whether or not the network is growing.

4. Content is King. Your content on your profile and your ability to keep your friends or contacts connected, will remind your contacts of your products or services. Next, keep it positive, even if you enjoy a little bit of sarcasm. When reading, people might not understand your tone or message.

5. Networking within your sphere of influence is just as important as earning new friendships or contacts. Life as an entrepreneur is a numbers game. The more people you meet, the more your brand, product or service gets in front of potential clients/customers. If you are a big business and you're establishing a networking presence, you have yet another tool to communicate with your clientele in a manner that suits his or her communication style.

6. Manage your time. 5 or 6 networking is a lot. So, you may want to consider ping.fm, which is a service that will update your networks for you. In some cases, spend 30 minutes per day making new contacts. Some contacts may not want to network with you, which is fine. Not everyone will be in need of your product or service at the time you approach them.

Articles like the one written above can be found on Bizintros.com, which is a startup, business networking community that encourages business professionals to share their expertise and build their referral network among local and global professionals in various industries. On Bizintros.com, you gain instant access to exclusive groups and educational content that will help you build a better more profitable business.

http://www.bizintros.com

           Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Audeliz_Angie_Pere

Business Networking - Who Wins?

Business Networking - it's a buzz word for today, but who wins? If two people network, do they both win? If both of them win, does the customer lose? Ideally, business networking should result in a win-win-win situation. And in most cases, that is what does happen. Individuals or businesses can network to provide enhanced services, faster services, and better talent to clients than either would have working alone. The client can belong to either business, or be shared by both. Clients can be an existing client, or new, or one that both individuals or businesses pitched together to obtain.

For example, a print advertising agency has a client that wants a video production. This ad agency can network with a reputable media production house to provide the video production. At the same time, the video house can benefit by having the print agency do any related printing or DVD covers, etc., that might be needed. The video producer can focus on what they do best, the video production, and leave the print items to the network partner who specializes in that area. Neither has to take on the burden of new talent, or purchasing equipment to provide what the client wants. The network relationship can be informal or put on paper like a partnership. Meetings would be helpful in advance to propose the project, and determine the division of duties, and of course, important monetary distributions and bookkeeping details.

Looking at "business networking - who wins?" from the client side, the benefits are working with one contact person (sales or marketing representative) who is the intermediary between the client and both companies. Simplification of payment and records, and time saving are also cost savers. There may be some actual dollar savings for the client who works with business networkers also, if they pass along some of their own savings to the client. The client receives better product from both companies who network together, because each is skilled in their particular area and do not have to try to "wing it" or start from scratch in an area they do not know.

Putting together these business networking partnerships can be easy or hard, depending on the principals involved, but it is always interesting, especially when it works like clockwork. The most difficult part is probably the interactions of different personalities, especially in an ego involved area like creative services. There must be a willingness to negotiate and compromise, to reach effective solutions and remain client centered. On the client side, they may not even realize what is going on the in background with the networking process. Nor do they have to know about any business networking. All they need to know is they are getting the best, highest quality performance from the company(ies) they have hired for this job.

If two people (or businesses) network, do they both win? If both of them win, does a customer lose? Yes and no, if business networking is conducted properly, the business networkers win, and the customer does not lose. Otherwise there is no benefit to the networking!

For more information on networking, visit http://www.coworkingcenters.com/

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=John_Parks

Business Social Networking - How Good Are You?

Do you hold a position in your company or in your business that requires you to meet a lot of new people? If you are and do, then how good are your social networking skills for the business?

Are you aware that if your social skills are not up to 'par' or better, that it could and more likely will, cost your company kudos and contracts? No one wants to deal with or be associated with, people who are not of the same ilk as themselves. Remember the old adage that our parents drummed into us as kids? "You will be labeled by the company you keep" and that proverb is as relevant today as it was back in the days it was originally coined.

Quite aside from the fact that any company who gives any business a contract, will then be having a lot of contact with that company holding the contract; and if they are bad mannered or inconsiderate to deal with, then the chances are high that should something go awry, as often happens, that anyone who is inconsiderate to deal with will be even worse when the going gets rough. These are all 'trigger' points to be considered when doing business with a company or an individual within that company.

It may sound a bit "snobbish" and perhaps to a degree it is, but what if it is a pointer towards the character of the person you will be dealing with or of the mindset of that company? Is this really someone or a business that you want to be doing business with?

Just as there are certain body language signs to look for when assessing a persons character, so are there "company" signs to assess before being known to be associated with them. If the company, unbeknown to you, had a reputation in their neighborhood of being unreliable, uncooperative and biased in some way, is this someone or a company, that you want to be seen doing business with? Even if they are the only suppliers in the state, I suggest you could save yourself a lot of money, worry and angst by finding a supplier or some other company more cooperative, pleasant and willing to do business with from interstate or inter region.

This is why it is imperative to do a thorough "due diligence" check on individuals and companies if you are seriously considering doing business long term with someone or some company. These due diligence checks can save you a lot of money in the short and long term not to mention protecting your personal and your business reputation.

On the other side of the coin, if you have excellent networking skills, are reliable, cooperative, considerate, fair in your dealings with people and protect your reputation; you will not only gain a lot of good Kudos by word-of-mouth (WOM) advertising, you are much more likely to pick up some very good contracts and people will enjoy dealing with you. This will make your work environment more pleasant and it is also much more profitable.

Learning how to improve social skills leads to happier and more prosperous business and social results. Chivalry, courtesy and conversation are not dead, they just have to be actively practised http://www.learninghowsite.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=J_Gay

Principles For Successful Business Networking

A man without friends is just like that cloud which can be blown in any direction by wind. Making friends is not only the nature but the need of human beings to move successfully in life. Business networking is the essence of today’s world; for entrepreneurs, big and small, even for those who don’t own their own business and are employed. Making connections and building relationships becomes necessary for successful life now. These business networks not only help you in daily life’s needs but also prove to be a great deal of help for your business

. All the people try to build networks in their business area specially. But building good networks is an art in itself and everyone cannot do this successfully. To master this art some points must be kept in mind which can help you a great deal.

First of all, always try your max to be genuine. As all of us don’t like to pay for a service which is claimed to be the best but don’t give enough to its customers. Similarly others expect from you. So don’t try to claim or pretend to be the one who you are not. It’s all about building trust with your relations whether blood relations or business relations. Be authentic and genuine and build trust and try your level best not to break this trust.

You should be quite clear what you actually want from your business networks. This will help you choose your group and event of interest. Some meetings and events need you to volunteer and help others. Some are organized to make business networks. Others are especially for learning. You should know what you aim to get out of the connections you will make. It will lead to the desired actions.

When you know what you want, then you should visit as many events and groups of your interest as possible. You should observe the behaviors and attitudes of the members of groups before joining. They must be supportive and competitive enough to make you learn something. Group leaders are the most important people. Observe them if they are talented and competitive.

Being visible is very important to be important for others. So always try to volunteer which will make you noticeable in front of many important people you want to join. Volunteering will also help you to help those who helped you sometime.

Always show deep interest in your meetings. Ask open ended questions which demand answers more than yes or no and need some explanation. More questioning shows your curiosity and interest in the opposite person and his services. This is a great tip for making connections and starting conversations.

Always try to be recognized as a powerful reserve of networks and referrals for other people. It will make you more visible and let other people contact you when they need contacts and help.

You should be very specific what you want actually. So try to make contacts who can help you and to whom you can give back.

Retrieved from "http://www.articlesbase.com/networking-articles/principles-for-successful-business-networking-885615.html"

(ArticlesBase SC #885615)

Online Business Networking

Online business networking can actually be crucial to the success of your business. Through online and offline networking, you can find your dream job or meet potential clients and customers to increase your business revenues.

Since the inception of the Internet, email and online groups, men and women have been able to communicate with more people from more places across the globe than once imaginable. Online social networking is exploding across the Internet as more employers and agencies are turning to social network sites to find potential employees and to check work references. Knowing the most popular social networks on the Web in addition to offline network groups can dramatically increase your chances of being connected to the right people or your next employer.

Networking does differ somewhat for men and women, but only in how each gender relates to the other. "Men define themselves through business or the type of work experience they have," says Patty Sadallah of the Redwood Sisterhood. "Whereas women define themselves through their personal relationships." How does this difference affect men and women's networking roles?

Women will have to overcome some challenges in order to network offline with male colleagues and other potential business contacts that are dominated by men, according to an article published in The Cleveland Women's Journal (Feb-Mar 2009).

Tips for Women to Successfully Network with Men

• Add a feminine touch when talking with men by asking about their personal interests, family and hobbies.
• Send thank you notes to those you met and networked with at social events and include a business card if you did not get a chance to give them one already. This adds a personal feminine touch and may garner you a future interview or phone call to discuss an opportunity.
• Ask questions or advice relevant to your business or position. Men like to be the expert on something and this tactic will validate that you find them trustworthy.
• Find allies with a male colleague or two who values your insight and expertise. Attend networking functions with this person, as he is more likely to include you in conversations and introduce you to other people.

Women and men should join both online and offline groups in order to grow their professional network. Through joining free online business networks, you not only grow your own network, but will also have an opportunity to promote your business, expertise and take part in discussions. Three of the most popular online business networks are Linked In, Fast Pitch Networking and Facebook. LinkedIn and Fast Pitch both have free and paid membership choices. By joining these three networks, you will be able to connect with more people and businesses than email alone.

Features of Top 3 Online Business Social Networks

1. LinkedIn has over 10,000 groups to join and to be an active participant through discussions, Q & A, upload press releases, articles, connect to corporate blogs and more.
2. Fast Pitch Networking also has many of the same features as Linked In, but it also has a weekly live chat for those who opt for the paid membership.
3. Facebook was once touted only for those who had an email ending in '.edu'; it added a business application in 2008 for all types of businesses to connect in addition to creating groups by its members. You can create more than one account by using a different email address at signup.

Looking for other online business networks? Anyone can find just what he or she is looking for through simple searches using your favorite search engine. Search for top business social networks, niche social networks, or insert your industry along with social networks or social media (manufacturing social networks). There is much to be read, discussed, and critiqued when researching online social networks and social media.

Scour your local and regional newspaper for events in your area either free or low cost to meet people and to look for job opportunities. Several business social networks offer in-person networking events in many cities across the country. Attend one and talk to other attendees about yourself, your current business/company, and offer a business card for future contact. Everyone who attends is looking to meet other people, so do not be afraid to introduce yourself.

Sources:

Sadallah, Patty. Business networking is referred to as a process through which people develop jointly beneficial relationship with the other people in business, clients, customers and consumers. The relationship should be reciprocal and equally reliable on both sides. Business networking is not about meeting and greeting new people in the business events. People usually refer networking as a process of meeting new people which is a wrong definition.

The key to effective business networking relations is the development of jointly valuable and beneficial bond. But this is really a rare thing seen anywhere. At most of the events people shake hands, exchange business cards and leave. These business cards are said to be the huge opportunities to get jobs or business clients.

The major purpose of business networking is to increase the business profits. But these profits cannot be made possible if you don’t have built trust with your customers or clients. Trust is t he basic pillar on which any relation stands whether it is a relationship within family or with your customer. The trust can grow and become stronger if you make real efforts and be genuine. You should be true and authentic in your relationships.

These business networking meetings and events are a big reservoir of information. The best business networking events serve the purpose of exchanging information between business people. The first and foremost skill that you should learn about networking is “listening”. You concentrate very carefully on what others are saying and then respond to them very cautiously. You must concentrate what can be the way to help other people you are listening to. It is better than giving others the chance to help you. World is said to be like a mirror and our deeds and actions like reflection; whatever we give to the world, the good, the bad, comes back to us. So give the world the best and best will come back to you.

Listen carefully and show your interest to other person which will make him feel important. Ask them to introduce and then ask questions about their business, interests and other such questions which may make them elaborate things. People like to talk about their success and achievements. So ask them how they started their business and what hurdles they have to face? How they came to such a high rank in such a competition? Such questions may make them feel valuable and excited to tell about their success in business. Then start telling about you. Introduction should be prepared already and it should make the other people curious enough to ask enough questions. And then tell them about your business and services or products. You should make them feel that you are really valuable and different from others. A different introduction and unique presentation of your services or products will make the other people retain you in their memory for long.

Make Business Networking Profitable With Five Strategies

New clients are generally developed through the contacts we have made with other people. Business networking meetings and events provide the opportunity to enlarge the contact list especially when we build and cherish quality relations. Networking is not all about attending such events, visiting a networking group, have gossip with many people and collect as many business cards as possible. Business networking is all about building long lasting relationships and the networking events have huge potential for new relationships. Here come some strategies to make profits from networking:

Go for an appropriate networking event according to your interest. Good networking can be done only by attending business conferences, trade exhibitions and business networking events where you expect people of your business category to come. Going on every meeting does not generate good results.

Effective networking does not spell out making relationships with every one at a business meeting. Your focus should be quality instead of quantity. So meet and follow only those who match your interests. You must have seen some people in these events talking to one person while looking around. These people know about the networking rules well they are looking for the next victim actually. They just don’t stick to one person for too long, rather they excuse themselves after ten minutes or so by saying” it was nice meeting you”. Then they move on to the next person of group of their interest. Don’t just go to everyone. Focus on quality of contacts not quantity.

Be prepared to make your first impression everlasting. You have only one chance to build first impression. So do it right because if it’s done wrong, can’t be corrected afterwards. Factors which make up this first impression include your handshake style, your smile, confidence and the overall thoughtfulness. Handshake should be confident and firm to show your openness. Meet people with a true smile on the face and eye contact. Observe their eye color during your introduction. Listen to their introduction carefully and show your interest by asking to repeat their name if they don’t say it loudly. Ask them what they do before telling anything about you. Continue the conversation about their business, give comments and ask details about their business. Show your interest which will create their interest for you.

Talk clearly and concisely about your business. Put emphasis on important words. Prepare an introduction and presentation for your business. Introduction will elaborate what you do actually. It explains that what you exactly have to offer. The intro should be interesting enough for other people to ask questions about your business. When they ask, present your business intro in front of them. But always be genuine and truly honest. Never tell misleading stories as trust is the basic factor for any relation.

Invest on follow up. After the initial meeting you must follow up the people immediately, who you want to continue the relation with. Send handwritten notes to show your willingness and interest in continuing the relation.

Facebook is Useful For Business

Many businesses are using social media networks for marketing purposes these days. Who can blame them? Social media is a quickly growing conglomeration of people from many countries, ages, and ethnicities who can potentially be exposed to your brand. Advertisers from the days when radio was the biggest medium would find it mind boggling that advertisers today can reach millions of people with very little effort. The difficulty with Facebook is consistently presenting interesting, informative content and interacting with people on a personal level.

Like other forms of social media, Facebook is a very viral community where news and items of interest spread like a wildfire. This is perfect for businesses trying to spread the word with new products or special promotions. Want to know what people think about your brand or product? Set up a poll or quiz on your Facebook page. For example, today Nabisco cookies gave out a coupon for a free box of cookies to everyone who became a Facebook fan of their profile. PopTarts recently had a poll on their Facebook page asking what new flavor of pastry they should create next. When I see something of note such as this, I forward it on to my brother, sister, and my mom. For the average teenager or social butterfly with hundreds of friends, this type of sharing can have a huge positive impact on the company.

Part of the beauty of online advertising is that instead of hoping to hit your target demographic on television, web site advertisement allows your target demographic to come to you through search keywords. There are currently over thirty-five million Facebook users. Of that number, over half of them check their Facebook profile every day. People on Facebook are also becoming more and more willing to interact and "rub shoulders" with advertisers. As long as you aren't spamming or overly aggressive in your marketing techniques, people are willing to listen to your messages about your product. The more entertaining, weird, funny, unusual, etc. you can make that message, the more chance you have of going viral and reaching an enormous audience through your Facebook page. One company that understands this is Victoria Secret. Their "Pink" page is marketed as the "effortlessly cool younger sister" of the Victoria Secret brand. Fans can discuss what they like or dislike about the products, post pictures, and get information about shows and new products on a page designed for today's teenagers.

For more information about social media marketing please visit http://www.digital-synergy.com/

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Courtney_Shipe

Why Your Business Needs a Dedicated Web Server

You don't need to pay for a dedicated web server to make money online. There are many shared hosting services that are more affordable and that can host several different sites. If your online business is growing though, there are a few good advantages that you can get from cutting lose from the groups that your sites are part of.

One advantage is that you get higher up time rates and faster page loading. If you have a lot of visitors trooping into your sites, you are guaranteed that your pages will be up most of the time and will load quickly enough to keep visitor interest. Websites that are located in shared servers are at a disadvantage because all the other sites in the same group can all at once experience traffic surges which can affect up time and loading.

To entrepreneurs, dedicated web servers are worth investing on. This is because you are likely to lose cash and returning visitors when your pages are always down. Because your internet materials aren't around for viewing, visitors are likely to leave and look for options offered by your competitors.

Shared hosting can affect traffic in more ways than one. Aside from turning off real visitors, poor up time can also have an impact on search engine robot activity. If your virtual property isn't around when robots visit, it might not get indexed or ranked. Without a high rank, you can't expect to obtain traffic from search engine results pages.

A dedicated server host can help your business beyond boosting traffic. It can also keep the online management of your network of sites organized and customized. You can choose only specific and uniform hardware, software, applications and technical tools for all your sites. This is something you just cannot get from shared hosting providers that make every feature available to all.

From the viewpoint of security, having the power to make choices is also important. Shared hosting offers little protection from shady activities or bad scripts that other site owners may use. Because you are under a shared host, your site may get flagged by search engines and security tools for activities performed by others.

A dedicated web server will also most likely come with excellent customer service. This is something you should expect because you are paying so much more than other site owners under shared categories.

The one major downside to getting your own spot is the expense. This is definitely not a cheap option which is why it is often only taken by big businesses. You might only want to consider separating from all the other sites in a host if there are signs of good, steady business growth. Aside from the increase in income, you can measure how well your business is doing by using tracking tools. A bounce rate that inexplicably grows may be a sign that visitors and robots are leaving your pages because of down times and slow loading.

Dedicated web servers are invaluable aides to online businesses. As soon as your venture shows signs of good health and growth, consider making the leap to a host that can give you more stable room to expand in.

Consult An SEO Company For All Your Online Business Needs. That means signing up others in our downline. And many of us would sign up anyone as long as they were breathing...and would go on an auto-ship! And sometimes we would even convince people to join if we had to.

I'm sure you have learned, like I have, what a mistake that was! I'll never, ever try to convince anyone to join my network marketing company again. Never! It was one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made in my MLM career. If you have to convince someone to join it will come back to haunt you.

People that need convincing either don't know what they want or they are unsure about being in business. Regardless, it is not a good idea to convince someone to join your MLM. For one thing if they are unsuccessful at building a business who will they blame? You!

And most people that need some convincing to join your network marketing business will more than likely need convincing to work it. Believe me, you will waste so much time with these people that it could affect the growth of your own network. In fact, it will affect your network.

As a leader you want to have people in your organization that know what they want. You certainly don't need the type of person that is wishy-washy, not knowing what they really want. These are the type of people that need convincing.

People that know what they want will look at a network marketing opportunity and know that it is for them. They will be able to see the potential that awaits them. They don't need to be convinced of anything. They KNOW what they want.

People that need convincing will sooner or later quit. And usually a lot sooner than later. And when they quit it takes no convincing at all. They just quit. They know that they didn't put any effort into building a business but they will say it was you that talked them into the business.

Think about your own experiences in life. Think about the times when someone tried to convince you to do something that you weren't really sure of. It's not a nice feeling being pressured into doing something. And if it involves money that makes things even more difficult.

No one likes losing money and this is what happens when you have to convince someone to join your network. It is difficult trying to sign up distributors at the best of times. But trying to convince a prospect to sign up will make things even more difficult for you down the road.

Stop when you catch yourself in the situation where you begin to try and convince someone to join your MLM business. it will only cause you problems in the future and it is nothing but a waste of your valuable time.

Scott Cameron has been an educator and entrepreneur for over 25 years. Often misunderstood as some sort of email, Twitter has created a new genre of communication in the online world.

The best way for me to describe it is to share my experience of going for a jog early one morning. I ran down a secluded dirt track, near where I live, which was lined with trees. And I have never heard so much noise coming from the birds in those trees, at 5 'O Clock in the morning. It was like Grand Central train station, a cacophony of tweeting that was amazing to hear.

And so it is with Twitter.com. It's a place for people to take a branch of a tree (or twitter page) and start tweeting. And as they tweet, they're joined by other 'twitterers' (or twits) and before you know it you have your own tree of twits all tweeting away.

Why do Entrepreneurs tweet?

The dynamic of Twitter is quite unlike any other social networking platform in that, much like texting, you have a 140 character limit for each tweet. But this is fine because your tweets should be mere muses, nuggets of information, pearls of wisdom or interesting quotes that are more than served by the limited character allowance.

So long as your tweets are focussed and share a theme, the twits you attract ( or your followers) will look forward to your next tweets and could well be people you could do business with. Further more if they like them enough, they may even pass the tweets to to their followers meaning that you could inherit twits in an exponential fashion.

It's an online marketers dream and used properly could turbo charge any marketing campaign and promote their home based business, but like most other online services, there are things that you need to be aware of.

Twitter.com likes to see that your ratio of followers to the people you are following has a tolerance of 10%. So if you have 2000 followers they wouldn't want to see you following more than 2200 people. This is so that people don't jump onto the system and start following as many random people as possible. It also prevents automated scripts from adding followers to a person's profile.

All this can serve to build the entrepreneurs home business and brand. And with thousands of people following their tweets, they could have a huge captive audience to send the occasional offering to in no time.

Marc Francis is a wealth coach, author and television presenter who helps individuals reach their goals and create personal wealth. They are out there to be sure, but where do you find them and how do you boost your chances of getting them if it's between you and other freelance writers? Below, we'll discuss how to find freelance writing opportunities.

Freelancing Sites

One of the most popular and most lucrative ways freelance writers can find writing opportunities is through online marketplaces like Elance.com. Individuals who need projects completed will post them on freelancing sites and then freelance writers can submit proposals on them. By submitting proposals often and creating specific proposals for different jobs, you can really find a lot of great job opportunities with freelancing sites.

Network

Another great way to find freelance writing opportunities is to network with others. Think of the kinds of people who would be in need of freelance writers. Website designers may have clients that need written projects, as would logo designers, and many others online. Join forums and groups and network with others. Put the link to your website or blog in your signature and let others know what it is you do. This is a great way to find writing opportunities.

Social Media Sites

Social media sites are great ways to connect with others who may need your services. When you create your profiles and befriend others, remember the people most likely to need your services - anyone who has a website including non-profits, businesses, entrepreneurs, etc. Put a link back to your website or blog in the profile of your social media site, and discuss the things you do. Remember not to send spam to anyone or you could end up banned and probably won't get any work at all. Still, these are great sites for drumming up work.

Ad Sites

There are ad sites you can utilize to find writing opportunities as well, such as Craigstlist.com. Many people post 'wanted' ads on Craigslist and you can respond to the writing offers with your resume or best samples. You can also post an ad detailing the kind of writing you do and hope to get some bites from there.

Put the word out with your friends too and let them know what you do and that you're taking on new clients. Word of mouth is a very powerful advertising tool! Social Business Networks also give you the opportunity to showcase your experience and achievements within your network. If you are an entrepreneur or small business owner, you need to be literate in the current world of social networking profiles, tools, and online connections to stay competitive and promote your business.

Participating in social networking is an often-overlooked small business marketing tool. In the real world, our networks are hidden. Social networking sites solve this problem by letting you see who your friends and connections know, who your friends, friends know and so on. You then are free to contact anyone that interests you by inviting them to join your own social network.

If you are looking to expand your contact base, LinkedIn and Facebook are two of the more popular services that facilitate business-oriented connections. Facebook showed a 270 percent increase in visitors in 2007 over the year before according to comScore, a leader in measuring the digital world. Ecademy and Xing are also popular business networking sites.

Here are 5 quick tips to successful social business networking:

1. Take the time to learn how to properly use the business social networking site that you join. Most social networking sites offer online tutorials. Many sites allow you to post your own user generated content in the form of blogs, pictures, slide shows and videos. Many users do not use the social networking sites to their fullest potential by taking advantage of these features.

2. Don't let your ego take over and join in the race to build up a massive list of contacts to show off your "social power." If you have more than 500 "friends," take the time out to sort through these "friends" to be aware of the people you may be attracting to your network.

3. Build and manage your online reputation. According to a report on MSN, several companies are now using the "friends" on an applicant's social-networking page as references. Not only are they looking at your page on sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn, they may also take the next step in contacting your friends. The old days of a page with three references and three phone numbers on it that you controlled are over. With social business networking, you open up your rolodex for the whole world to see.

4. Be professional. Type your posts, e-mails, comments or chats in a professional manner and do not use internet slang such as "lol", "omg", etc. Type your email, comments or chat messages as if you were standing in front of the person speaking face-to-face. Let's face it; this could be your first impression with a potential client or HR recruiter.

5. Establish a Routine. When logging on to your preferred Business Social Networking sites, set aside a designated length of time to spend here. Have some specific goals in mind when visiting the site.

Don't take a pass on the whole social networking trend. Millions of professionals are learning how social networks work, how social networking works, and how shared applications can be viral and ever-present. Don't miss out on this opportunity to create a successful social business network of your own.

Robin Matuk is an Internet Business Coach who addresses the needs of entrepreneurs and business owners looking to maximize the power of the Internet to build, manage, and grow a thriving business. What are the underlying, unchanging precepts of networking in a competitive, goods and services oriented arena? Understanding these principles can put us in a powerful position in the business world if we understand, practice, and apply them.

One of the elemental issues revolving around active business networking is the competitor, non-competitor matrix. Simple strategies of networking can only involve non-competitive interests. If you are networking with your direct competitor, you will tend to be very protective, and this inhibits the flow of benevolence back and forth, thus throwing cold water on networking activity as a result.

More advanced and sophisticated networking strategies however, can and do engage fierce competitors into deep cooperation. This is a huge advantage if you can achieve it, because your competitors market is also yours. Again though, there has to be some pretty advanced tactics in order to gain that position. We'll come back to this issue with more insight after we establish a few more important fundamentals.

The next matter involves forums. Forums are simply the venue in which your network can operate. There are meeting style networks that meet once per week for breakfast, or once per month for coffee. These companies are employing the "Meeting Forum", and it is great for some types of exchange. There is also the telephone forum. Sometimes, local service providers use the phone extensively. Maybe there is a roofing company, a painter, a window cleaner, and a landscaper in a localized network. These companies are not competitors, so they feel free to share leads with each other. The telephone is a great forum for this kind of network exchange.
Another important base concept in networking involves traffic, messaging, and real estate. There is virtual real estate upon which we can post our messages, like Television or Radio. Likewise, there is literal real estate, usually along a busy thoroughfare, where we can place our signs. The internet has real estate in the form of internet addresses, and some are traffic oriented, but others are process oriented. Just like some companies are not located on busy streets, but they do place their signs there, likewise, some internet addresses are not in the traffic, but they do put their links on sites that have a lot of traffic, like entertainment sites and the like.
A non-competitor may be synergistic with your company typographically. In that case, the active market of that company is likely to interest you. On the other hand, if the networking prospect is not in proximity to you typographically, then there would be less potential benefit in business network exchange. This is where the concept of network to network association becomes viable. A business to business relationship is more delicate than is network to network, and value could be gained from that more involved approach.

A final though is about expansive interests and localized interests. There are local networks, regional, national, and global. Some regional companies want to expand to national reach, and some global companies want to be able to drill down into targeted localities. As we begin to transcend the limitations of our own immediate interests, we can see more clearly the coalescence of higher cognitive manipulation of accumulated networks.

Reflecting back on the trail of principle we've left behind in this article, we can begin to imagine how the engineers of the global economy are type categorizing not just entities, but actual networks too. Networking has indeed reach the age of true power through internet categorization, traffic, messaging, and virtual real estate.

Jeff Rogers is the President and Founder of http://www.dragnetmarketing. Or a third comment,

“It’s not for me I get enough business through referrals and recommendations.”

Now, that third response always brings me to ask what is the fundamental difference between getting business from referrals and getting it through business networking? Simple answer, the

If you are content to wait for third parties to dictate the growth rate of your business, that is fine. Rely on clients and contacts to make those recommendations. However, if you want to dictate the growth of your business then I believe the most cost effective way to spread your message about who you are what you do and how your clients benefit from buying your services and products then business networking has to be the answer.

Having spent literally hundreds of hours analysing these negative attitudes to business networking, I believe I now have most of the solutions to help overcome people’s fears and anxieties. Let me share my findings with you. Can I ask how do you feel when you go somewhere be it business networking or social and you are not likely to know many people. If you are like my seminar delegates or audiences you tell me things like:

“I could make a fool of myself”,

“I may not belong here”,

“I am going to feel well outside my comfort zone”,

“I am likely to be embarrassed”,

and the list goes on and on.

I know the key learning point here is virtually everyone feels the same, therefore as a consequence if you feel totally relaxed and comfortable you are abnormal! Don’t worry, there are just a few of us still around. Don’t misunderstand me but I know the root cause of all these fears, it is your mother’s fault. My mother, your mother, everyone’s mother, what did she tell us about strangers? That’s right never talk to strangers. What she forgot to tell us when we became mature teenagers that there was no harm in safe environments in talking to people we don’t know.

I now give you that permission because you will never be rejected. Rejection, that is the overall fear to networking. Zig Ziglar, that famous and international motivational speaker said “Fear false evidence appearing real”. Now think about it for a moment. When have you been rejected when you have approached someone at a business networking event or social gathering? My guess is never, unless of course you don’t do it in the correct manner.

Imagine a scenario. Your clients have invited you to the opening of their new premises and have been kind enough to include you on their guest list. Let us move into that room. There are 50 people there and the only people you know are the hosts. You said your hellos to them then they move on to greet other guests. Now is the moment when I ask you to remember that 99% of the people in that room had similar misgivings and doubts. So, if it is a bar do, go and get yourself a drink and look round the room and you will see them. There they are standing alone near the wall like Billy and Betty no mates. These people are standing there because of all the fears we have mentioned so far. They feel as if they have 2 ton of lead on each foot weighing them down, unable to move. At best this is due to unease, at worst raw panic. Knowing now how they feel, take your drink, go up to them and from a short distance smile. Ask if you may join them, extend your hand, shake hands and introduce yourself. I think first names only are a great way to start to build a business relationship. Most of us struggle with names, let’s keep it simple. At this moment please, please believe me, you will not be rejected. You will never be rejected. They will want to make you their friend for life at this point. They will want to give you a big mental hug and more than likely they will offer up a little prayer of thanks. No one stands on their own by choice, they do it because of their lack of self-confidence, their worries and their misgivings. Even at this early stage you and Billy or Betty will have at least four things in common:

You are both fellow guests of the same hosts.

You both know no one.

You are both in the same business networking event.

You both travelled to get there.

There are many easy subjects you could discuss. You could talk about your hosts. You could comment on the room if there is something different about it or you could ask “so Jo, (it’s changed now from Billy or Betty Nomates because they have told you their real name) so Jo, how far have you travelled today to get here?”

It does not matter what the opening question is as long as it is something Jo won’t have any problem answering!

Believe me when I tell you that unless the person is truly antisocial, and yes it does happen very occasionally, the conversation will begin to flow. More often than not, there will soon be common topics to talk about. It may be where you both live, where your businesses are based, the fact that you are both in the same sort of business. You may both be suppliers to the host. By this time, you will both be feeling much more relaxed.

And finally, a quick tip. If you are nervous about entering a full room at a business networking event, get there early. This gives you a chance to chat to your hosts a little longer and it is likely they will introduce you to fellow guests immediately. This of course, rules out lots of the negative feelings, which we have already covered.

In other articles on business networking, we will talk about:

The problem people have with remembering other people’s names.

How to build relationships through the power of small talk.

How to extricate yourself, one person or a group of people

How to break into groups

How to park people with others, understanding that business networking is all about giving first and receiving second.

Finally, how to leave any business networking event with real potential business opportunities.

Kintish specialise in training professional individuals, companies and corporations in business networking techniques via seminars, in house work groups and major events. Unfortunately your business contacts will only get you so far, unless you really know how to extract value out of your existing business networks and relationships.

This rarely happens due to a lack of education in the area of specialised networking. As business owners, we generally focus on how to develop a marketing campaign, sales processes and how to write business plans (even though few businesses seem to be operating with any of these anyway).

But when do I ask, is the time taken to develop a clear cut business networking strategy? Next to never!

Considering it is one of the most cost effective strategies to attract new clientele and reduce your client acquisition costs, why is such an important aspect being over looked by 1000's of small to medium enterprises and companies?

Purely because of the huge gap in understanding the processes involved in extracting such value from ones networks. It is not as simple as exchanging a few pleasantries and business cards at networking events. That makes up 1 %. It is about the processes and strategies that are implemented following that initial meeting that makes the difference.

With the price of marketing our businesses ever increasing and the return on investment ever decreasing, businesses must shift their focus rapidly to succeed in such a competitive business environment.

So how do you extract value out of your pre existing networks?

There is an entire tool kit of strategies and alliances you can establish with another business owner that will see you both win at the end of the day and have your customers jumping for joy.

They may include:

- Host Beneficiaries
- Cross Promotional Strategies
- Affiliate Programs
- Referral Strategies

I have seen many businesses generate millions in revenue by hugely effective and what some would say, overly simple referral strategies. The funny thing is, the simpler the better when it comes to business alliances and networks!

It is sometimes the simplest of strategies that provide the most value to you, your business, your colleagues business and your customers.

Do not overlook what is sitting right in front of you with your existing networks. We are in such a well connected society, so connected in fact that in most business networking circles you are only ever 1 degree of separation away from your ideal client.

The above strategies are simply just processes utilised to extract those clients and direct them to your business. They are channels, even pathways to your door, website or phone but they do not work unless you build them and maintain them with care.

All of these strategies have one common denominator, they are all about who you know, who your colleagues know and who your clients know. The real benefit comes however when you utilise different styles of alliances to obtain and extract value from your network, as they will from you.

At the end of the day, what's another name in your phone going to do to help you grow your business unless you dial the number and put the wheels in motion?

Ben Angel is the author of the new controversial book 'Sleeping Your Way to The Top in Business - The Ultimate Guide to Attracting & Seducing More Customers.' How can I grow thousands of downlines below me? How do you do it? These are all common questions I receive every single week, or every single day!

I have been on that particular position before, trying to find an answer and I understand most people are struggling in network marketing too. What are the things I am doing wrong? I found the answer and my network marketing business grow faster than what you can imagine today.

Applying the first foundation to network marketing business using this sentence I learn through my days in network marketing. The sentence is "In order for you to be successful, you need to lead a group of people to do a few simple actions, over a consistent period of time".

But having to understand that is just the first step you need to do. Usually the first step is simple and the later steps are tough and usually will force most non-determine people out of the business. I call this process "the route to success".

The second thing you need to do is to look for leaders. Many people when doing this business, usually look for people who are of worst status than themselves. Put it simple, most people love to look for negative people, people who are always grinding about their life and blame the whole world except themselves for the bad result they are receiving.

In order for you to be successful, you need to look for people who are positive if not successful in their work life or business! These are people that will really help you reach success in network marketing without doubt!

The problem people usually face when trying to get these successful people are status pressure. My advice to solve this problem is to edify your upline, if not your upline's upline until you get a person above you who is of same status or higher than the person you are trying to talk to. That is why selecting a good team to be in is vital in your network marketing business.

The third important thing you need to take note of is to have a good relationship bonding with your leaders. Why? Most people will definitely not pledge loyalty or go all out in the business until they feel the bonding. Get them involve in whatever mini event you are organizing.

Many people do not care how much you know but how much you care for them! Show them your sincerity and you shall receive theirs too. The last thing you need to do is to have consistency in your actions. Actions brings results, negative or positive, it is a process to success. Be consistent and you will see results!

Tab on one of the greatest network marketing business!

http://www.mymlmrockstar.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Tristan_Zheng

Network Marketing Strategy - One Secret Strategy to Skyrocket Your Success

The goal of this short article is to expose to you the one secret network marketing strategy that a lot of top recruiters are utilizing to skyrocket their businesses.

This one strategy is so powerful, that once you actually utilize it in your opportunity you will never look back ever again, and you will be contemplating what the heck you have been doing up to this day in your business growing efforts.

I'm going to get straight to the point.

The secret network marketing strategy you ought to implement to absolutely explode your organization is to use the right internet marketing system for your business opportunity.

So That's The Secret Network Marketing Strategy?

You bet, implementing a superb online marketing system to grow your team is the most effective network marketing strategy on this earth at the moment.

And just to make sure, by marketing system I do not think about the "system" of creating a long list of everyone you know, calling them up and then speaking to them with your upline for a 3-way conversation.

I'm also not thinking about the replicated website that you have most likely gotten through your MLM opportunity.

What I am speaking of is a generic online marketing system that you can utilize to brand YOURSELF and grow your business around YOU and not your opportunity or product line.

You must realize is the important fact that people join people; they do not join business opportunities. In spite of this, 97% of network marketers that are trying to use online marketing strategies are just pitching their products, business opportunities or how great their compensation plan is compared to the rest of the industry.

If you want to be a great success within your network marketing business, you have got to separate yourself from all the rest out there, and the best way to do this is via an online marketing system that brands YOU as an authority in the industry.

When you start using this powerful network marketing strategy you will experience people coming to YOU with questions on how they can join with YOU, rather than you having to go after everyone else trying to convince everyone that within your radius to be a part of your business.

Can you imagine how it would be like to have strangers PHONING YOU UP every single day wanting more information on how they can work with you?

To learn how you can use this powerful Network Marketing Strategy and also get access to marketing training worth $194 for free, head over to Marius Ystenes more in-depth Network Marketing Strategy article right now.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Marius_Ystenes

Network Marketing is a Pay to Play Business

Suppose you decide to open a convenience store. You find a location, sign a lease and usually pay the first and last month's rent plus a damage deposit upfront. Then you make the necessary alterations on the building's interior and exterior. The racks and furnishings must be purchased along with the latest model point-of-sale cash register. Inventory to stock your shelves must be purchased. Help wanted ads have to be placed in order to hire employees. Well, you get the picture. You've spent a ton of money without seeing your first sale. At this stage of the game, your business is a potential, far from a thriving enterprise.

Why is it, when we talk to new prospects and they question us about the costs involved with our network marketing business are we like shrinking violets?

Better you inform your prospect of all costs upfront rather than trying to skirt or tip toe around the issue. If anything, I usually approximate a slightly higher cost and if there is an auto-ship plan built into my network marketing company, I state that upfront. Prospects that are unwilling to participate in auto-ship will usually be the first to drop out of your business (meaning you have spent a great deal of your time and energy on him/her when you could have spent it on finding better qualified recruits).

Let's face it: why is our network marketing business any less a business than one he or she would set-up themselves? How could they possibly expect to start and run our (or any) business without there being certain ongoing expenses?

Most network marketing businesses have extremely low costs. Perhaps this is why we attract so many people who are willing to call it quits at the slightest "bump in the road". Maybe if our initial costs were high - as is a traditional business - we would attract fewer people into our businesses BUT the ones who did join us would stick with their business as they have more to lose should they decide to quit.

The business that we offer prospects is a system. A system with potential. In order to play, they have to pay.

Andy has been a network marketer for 15+ years. When you get out there and meet people, developing deep and lasting relationships, you are insuring your business' client base. It is commonly known that people buy from people that they like and trust; networking is the key to building these quality relationships. So, how do you maximise your networking activities?

1. Think Local

Start your networking activities by attending networking events in your local area. Do not seek to cover all areas; rather develop meaningful relationships in the client area you focus on most. Research your local networking groups and aim to attend a few. When people recognise you are actively engaged in the community and are a familiar face at networking events, they will be more likely to show an interest in you.

2. Be Consistent and Committed

Networking is like building any other relationship; it is achieved through consistency. You will achieve the best results if you make a commitment to attend most, if not all, of the events offered by the networking groups that you join. When you do attend be punctual and be prepared to stay for the duration of the event. A token appearance will not allow you to build meaningful relationships, nor will it make a good impression on the people there.

3. Be Confident

If you have decided to put the time into networking for your business, approach the activity with confidence. You need to be able to actively engage people in conversation, and be confident enough to talk to strangers. The pay-off is that these people won't be strangers for long, and the more you get used to talking to new people the easier it becomes. If you have difficulty with new crowds of people, perhaps consider doing a public speaking course first, or start with a small networking group where you can build your confidence.

4. Be Friendly

When you meet new people, or reconnect with people you have met previously, remember to be friendly and approachable. The key to effective networking is showing an interest in other people; get them to open up and tell you about themselves. It might be a good idea to prepare a few "ice breakers" before you attend an event. You could ask questions about their business, what their business challenges are, and what they like about their job. Ask questions that allow the person to feel comfortable sharing with you and the conversation will then flow naturally.

5. Be Prepared

One of the best things about business networking is that it forces you to think about your business and how you want to be perceived. Before you start networking decide how you want to present your business to people. Think about the future direction of your business and how your new relationships might help you move forward. When you are prepared you can quickly and easily answer other networkers' questions about your business, which will better enable them to refer the right business back to you.

6. Actively Listen

Everyone networks for the greater good of their business. When you actively listen to people you will come away from the event with the right knowledge to make quality referrals. You might have met an accountant at a recent event who spoke to you about his passion for "x". The next day your local "y" says he needs someone to do "x". Because you were actively listening you quickly match up the two and are able to make a referral.

A note of warning here: only refer to people when you feel comfortable doing so. You are not obliged to pass on referrals just because you are part of the same network. This is why building trust and confidence in your fellow networkers is crucial.

7. Follow Up

Do not go to a networking event and then expect things will just happen. Networking is an ongoing activity that needs to be constantly reinforced, just like a personal friendship. If you have permission, you can stay in contact via email. It is also a nice idea to send small cards to thank people for their time speaking with you. If you feel that you would really like to connect with one person in particular, organise a one-on-one with them. Think of a unique and personal way that you can maintain contact with people. But, do not spam people or be too pushy. Remember, you are building a meaningful relationship and the hard sell is the quickest way to ruin that connection.

Happy networking!

Shandel's Proofreading Services

Proofreading, Copy Editing and Copy Writing Services

http://www.proofreadingservices.net.au

info@proofreadingservices.net.au

PO Box 3480, Rouse Hill, NSW, 2155

0450 170 084

ABN 15 645 822 947

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Shandel_Burns

Ho, Ho, Ho! Holiday Networking Can Be Fun - And Fruitful!

If you're looking for a job, you're probably sick of people (like me) telling you how important it is that you diligently work your circle of contacts.

There's nothing wrong with online job listings and recruiters. Sometimes that's exactly what will lead you to your next job. It's a simple fact, though, that your next opportunity is much more likely to come to you via other people. Your network.

Still, you may be feeling like you've tapped that resource dry. You've talked with everyone you can think of and you can only be in touch so much; you don't want to wear out your welcome, so to speak.

And while you've tried to purposefully expand your connections, maybe that process is taking longer than you'd hoped.

If networking has begun to feel like so much heavy lifting, cheer up; you're in midst of networking nirvana...the packed holiday social season!

There's a good chance your calendar is bursting with commitments through the end of the year. Included will be family gatherings, parties with friends and neighbors, receptions at your kid's school... you name it.

But wait! Those aren't exactly gatherings of industry peers.

Exactly.

Holiday parties may be just the ticket when it comes to a whole new source of leads. Think of the people you're going to be rubbing elbows with. Maybe you haven't seen some of them for quite a while. Others might be folks you don't normally think of in the context of your job search.

While you're scoping out the hors d'oeuvres, sipping an eggnog and chatting someone up, get the scoop regarding what's going on at her company. Find out who may be planning to hire in the first quarter. And so on.

You never know who might be the source of valuable information or the conduit for an introduction that could lead to your next opportunity. Talk to everyone.

The added bonus? Holiday parties are festive! People are in a good mood. And people who are in a good mood tend to be more helpful.

So enjoy yourself - circulate - and ask some purposeful questions. You just may walk away with a job lead or two along with some holiday cheer.

Rebecca Metschke helps professionals improve their marketability. Taking a consistent and professional approach to networking as part of a long term strategy can help you find out about:

What other businesses can do for you.

What opportunities exist to sell your products/services.

What your competitors are doing.

Many business owners who are new to networking make the mistake of trying to sell to everyone they meet. No-one likes a pushy sales person. If you go to small business networking events with the mindset that you need to sell there and then you are likely to fail.

Network events - insights

The purpose is to leave an impression not to make a sale.

The people you meet are likely to know someone who can benefit can your products/services.

The aim to to build long term relationships. Not to make a quick sale.

Listen to your target market, listen to their needs, then fit your solutions to their business requirements.

Small business networking events can be free of paid for so even startup companies with a tighter budget can attend. That's not to say that some of the paid for events aren't worthwhile either.

Enterprise Network events cover the following areas:

Manufacturing Network

Finance & Professional Services

Technology in Manufacturing

Creative & Digital Industries

Women in Business

Innovation

Enterprise coaches and enterprise hubs also benefit early stage businesses. Growing a business in a recession can be tough but we're all in the same boat to get over to a small business networking event and talk to other business owners.

For further information visit Small Business Networking Events.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Michael_J_Greenwood

Business Networking Events For Early Stage Businesses

People make businesses work. Knowing your market is very important and getting to know other business owners is key to success. Making profits involves forming relationships with people who can provide you with opportunities. But it must always be a win win situation. Both parties must get something out of the deal. If your business is one sided, i.e. you take money but don't deliver on expectations, then your business cannot be sustainable.

Growing your business

Recession are tough and it is tempting to cut out your marketing budget. But running a company with no marketing will soon lead to failure. You must speculate to accumulate so sitting in the office and waiting for sales to just roll in rarely works. Maximise on your existing customers by upselling complimentary services but bear in mind that you need new customers too to grow your business. Get out there to your local business networking events particularly if you are a startup business.

Business networking in Barnsley

Barnsley is a small town and reputations spread fast. Getting to know local businesses in your area is a fantastic idea. You never know when someone will need your services. Also, it isn't just about who you meet at business networking events. It's about who they know too.

Making the most out of events in Yorkshire

Yorkshire is a friendly place of business. There's a lot going on in the county and it seems that many people want to be in business there. Lots of networking events exist in Barnsley and the rest of Yorkshire namely the free networks that are setup by Enterprising Barnsley.

For more information about Business Networking Events visit http://enterprisingbarnsley.co.uk/enterprise-networks.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Michael_J_Greenwood

Build a Small Business Network Or Die

If you are a small business owner, did you know how badly the odds are stacked against you that you will succeed? 16 out of 17 small businesses fail. 95% of small businesses will never reach their 5th birthday. If your business is not already 8 years old, chances are it never will be. So how do you give yourself the edge that all of the other wished for? Build a small business network. Read on to find out more.

The network is the key component that will put your business up there with the ones that have made it. Almost every ultra-successful business owner knows that it's not WHAT you know, but WHO you know. Building a successful business is all about the right connections and being able to admit that we can't do this alone.

It does not matter what business you are in, or whether you only run a web-based company or a physical business. Networking is the key to building a better business above the 95% of the other guys that will never get there. A business network offers unbelievable advantages, from getting specialized mentoring and helping others, to having a nearly-endless stream of qualified customers call you without requiring any advertising to get them.

Networks are built around the idea that you need to give before you can get. Successful member of a network will agree to a code of ethics that everyone will follow. Each member of the network agrees to help any other member in need when that person's skills are required. Having a network at your fingertips is like having the best part of each person's mind available to call on when the specialty needs a solution.

If you need a lawyer, call your legal friend. If someone needs website help, they might call on you. Maybe you need human resources help or the wisdom of someone highly successful. You can also barter for free services by trading your services with someone for something you need. While all of the other businesses are out there floundering and paying full price at the same time, you will have a tight-knit group of people that you can call upon day or night to help solve your problems. You can also use your network as a mastermind group, where you periodically meet to solve a single problem that a member is having. If the whole group puts their mind to a single problem, more can be accomplished that each member working on it alone. Networking is the key to building your business more that you ever thought possible.

Joshua Black is the developer of the Underdog Millionaire's Guide to Networking. This group also acts as an insurance policy against disaster. Some business owners do not have time to participate in a full network. Here is an alternative method that you can use to help your business today.

It's called a breakfast club. This is a small networking group of business owners that meets once a week, or once a month for coffee and donuts (or whatever you want to eat). These meetings are not formal, but they do serve a single purpose- to get more business for each of the owners present at the meeting.

The way these meetings work is that the meeting can only consist of members that are non-competing with each other. Perhaps you have a lawyer, a dentist, a plumber, an accountant, and a web designer. Each of these members has their own customer list, but they are not able to provide any of the other services of the other members. During that particular month of business, these business owners will try to find out additional services that their customers may need help with. This allows the business owner to be more full-service for their customers, which is an added bonus and helps keep the customers around longer.

When the owners get together, they swap customer leads with each other. They will explain the needs of each customer and then give the leads to the person that can help them. Now, the new business has a qualified lead, because the original business owner told the person that they had someone that could help them.

The new customer visits the business and is already pre-sold before they even walk in the door. All that the service provider has to do is assure them that they can solve the problem as best as possible and close the deal. There is no cold calling in this situation, because the lead is pre-qualified. This is only one of the benefits of a breakfast club. If you have the time, you can expand it to a full-blown network, capable of many other things. However, if you only have the time to meet once a month, you can still benefit greatly from this small act of lead exchanges. Just think, all you have to do is get a cup of coffee once a month and you can gain thousands of dollars worth of new business.

Joshua Black is the developer of the Underdog Millionaire's Guide to Networking.
